Bourjois Unifying Powder Healthy Balance Matite 10h and Eclat Naturel #52 Review

So last week, I finally tossed some beauty products that expired or don't work on me and my maybelline pressed powder was one of it as it has been with me for nearly 3 years.

Banana powder is actually in my wishlist as I need something to cover and set my under-eye circles but when I was looking for a lip liner at a local Guardian (Seruni's problem always starts with looking around a local drugstore) I saw the last stock of Bourjois Unifying Powder Healthy Balance Matte 10h & Eclat Naturel and bought it home.

I got mine in the shade Vanilla #52 as I rarely see other shades catered by Bourjois Indonesia. It is actually tad lighter than my skin but it still works fine.

Firsr thing first, you might be not a fan of the packaging, I understand why. It looks cheap rather than classy and there is no applicator provided. But It's not a problem for me as I am not a sucker of packaging and I rarely use any applicators provided.

Before I give my opinion about this powder, let me tell you that I am inexperienced about face powder at all as I rarely use powder, but this powder gets all my thumbs up as it sets my make-up nicely and makes my face looks flawless but not cakey at all.

On the first day I was using it, I was confused as it feels like it melts on my face but stays put. It took couple of day until I finally read the description, it is marketed as a ultra-fine and melting texture powder which is non-drying and gives you matte and glowy finish.

It's not a powder with a heavy coverage. If you use it alone, it evens out your skin but with very little coverage. I mainly use this to set my make-up and it works really great when it pairs with The Face Shop CC cushion which can make my face looks a little greasy in humid weather.

Do I recommend it? Yes, if you have normal to dry skin. I don't think it will keep your oil at a bay if you are oily skin girls living in humid countries. But it will be a really nice powder for dry skin girls who wants something to set their make-up but in the same time having a healthy glow.

If you are not keen of fragrance and talc, this powder might be not a good option to you. It has a floral fragrance which similar to the Healthy Mix Foundation range, it isn't overpowering, but if you aren't into it, skip this baby. If you also avoid anything that contains talc, skip this baby too.

Last, as one of Bourjois products either the foundation or gel blush caused two big cystic acnes on my mom's cheeks, I really suggest you to try before buying. Bourjois products so far never break me out, but let me remind you to my disclaimer that products work well on me might not deliver the same result on you.

Overall, Bourjois never fails to impress me, I just wish more shades coming to town.

So Seruni, How's the banana powder?

Masami Shouko Professional Beauty Blender Duo

Since I started using the Masami Shouko Teardrop Beauty Blender that I purchased months ago, I never looked back. I only use my Real Technique Expert Face Brush If I have to go to work straightly from yoga class.

Those who live outside Indonesia might be unfamiliar with this brand so let me introduce you to Masami Shouko, an affordable make-up tools brand which can be found almost in every malls or department stores in Jakarta/Indonesia.

Now, let's jump back to the review. The general rule with any kind of beauty sponges is you have to regularly replace it with the new one after three months if you use them daily. As my teardrop beauty blender finally had to retired, I bought home this Masami Shouko Professional Beauty Blender Duo (Rp 144.900) from the nearest Kay Collection store.

At first, I was tempted to repurchase the Teardrop one as I thought all blender sponges are the same. But I am thankful that I chose these duo over my previous one as these duo are softer and bouncier, also they have smaller pores which means they don't absorb a lot of product.

The duo are stored inside a cylinder plastic tube. The orange one, which reminds me with the Real Technique Miracle Complexion Sponge, is targeted as a foundation and concealer applicator while the pink one is targeted as blush on applicator. I personally feel you can use both for applying foundation and blush on depending on your preferences.

I haven't tried the pink one yet as recently I wear my NYX Mosaic Powder in Dare instead of any cream product, but I can say the orange one give a flawless and natural looking complexion on my face and it allows me to apply concealer under my eyes perfectly as it has pointed-end.

In the picture above, I am using the orange sponge to apply my old edition L'oreal True Match Foundation in Apricot Ivory (R2) and I love how it looks like on my face as it looks natural. I wasn't a fan of this foundation as it"s tad lighter than my skin and gives quite heavy and full coverage If I apply it with brush, but this orange sponge definitely makes me fall in love with this foundation.

Now let's talk about cleaning, I find that cleaning is pretty easy but I have to double cleanse using baby oil first and later with Clean and Clear facial wash to completely remove foundation and concealer stain.

Will I repurchase? Yes, as it works great, but I really want to test out the Real Technique Miracle Complexion Sponge too for comparison as the orange one looks similar with RT sponge, I just want to know which one works better or it's a tie.

Do I recommend this? Yes, I do. It's a bit pricier than the beauty blender sponges from Masami Shouko non-professional line but it's definitely worth the money as you got two beauty blender and they have better quality. So If you are looking forward to update your beauty blender, these duo might be the perfect option.

KORRES Lip Butter in Wild Rose Review

Before I start my review, let me say Happy Eid Mubarak to those who celebrate it.

Took this from Pinterest

This is my very first review of products that I bought during my Europe Trip. I don't do a review in bulk as I want to test all products first before I review them.

But anyway, let me introduce you to the very first product that I purchased in Europe which is KORRES lip butter in Wild Rose ( retailed for 10.29 Euro at Reform Martin Innsbruck) a lip butter in jar which gives a subtle and natural rosy tint on my lips.

I was confused to pick either the Mandarin Lip Balm version or the lip butter but as I never heard about the Mandarin Lip Balm, I decided to pick the lip butter. ( I came back two times into the store as I couldn't decide which products I should buy in the beginning)

Ingredients List

It has several shades selection but I thought the Wild Rose one would suit me the best as I became quite pale in Europe due to colder weather compared to Jakarta.

What do I feel about this product? It definitely does great job in moisturizing and giving a flush of color. It doesn't last for a long time, maybe around 3 or 4 hours so I have to keep reapplying.

What I like the most about this lip balm though I consider it's a bit overpriced for a lip balm are, first, it doesn't dry out my lips as some lip balms I've tried and second, It's also great for those days when you just want to have some subtle color on your lips instead of extra pigmented lipstick.

Familiar? Indeed, but I was wearing the Lip Butter.

Do I recommend this? I think it will be a great product for summer months but it's just okay for winter or cold months ( I tested this when I was in Mount Titlis and it works pretty good but I think you will need a stronger ones for a dreadful cold dry months) and it's a lip butter in a jar, I am totally not a fan of dipping my index finger on to it as it isn't hygienic.

Will I repurchase? I think I won't, not because I am not satisfied with it, but If I have chance to back to Europe one day, I am going to test other brands.

Overall, It isn't a dissapointing product but not that impressive too.

After playing snow in Titlis for approximately 4 hours. I did reapply after eating.

N.B. I am sad that I didn't purchase any Tom Ford lipstick in Galleries Lafayette.
